چکیده
For reducing the initial GSHP investment, heat transfer efficiency of borehole exchange (BHE) system can be enhanced to reduce number or depth drilling. This paper proposes a novel and simple BHE design by changing cross-sectional shape U-tube increase BHEs. Specifically, in this study, we (1) verified reliability three-dimensional numerical model based on thermal response test (TRT) (2) compared inlet outlet temperatures different U-tubes at 48 h under premise constant leg distance fluid area. Referent circular tube, increases efficiencies curved oval flat semicircle sector tube were 13.0%, 19.1%, 9.4%, 14.8%, respectively. (3) The flux heterogeneity tubes sides BHE, decreasing order, is oval, semicircle, sector, circle shapes. (4) temperature wall order circle, (5) Under maximum distance, referent resistance with h, increased 12.6%, 17.7%, 10.3%, 7.8%, (6) We found that adjustments affect about 25% 12%, (7) flat-oval-shaped was best for

3D Simulation of the Thermal Response Test in a U-tube Borehole Heat Exchanger
Simulated Thermal Response Test data are analyzed in order to evaluate the effect of the tridimensionality model’s feature in determining the proper value of the soil thermal conductivity and borehole thermal resistance, necessary for the geothermal energy storage systems’ design in real conditions. The 3D system’s simulation during the Thermal Response Test is realized by adopting the finite e...

In this paper, fluid flow and heat transfer in the laboratory (small size) shell tube heat exchanger are analysed by computational fluid dynamic software. In this type of shell tube heat exchanger baffles with different angles of rotation: 00 (horizontal segmental baffle), 150 (from horizontal), 300, 450, 600, 750, 900 (vertical segmental baffle) is used. Effect of baffle orientation on shell t...
متن کاملSensitivity analysis on the performance of a ground source heat pump equipped with a double U-pipe borehole heat exchanger
Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) are economically and environmentally advantageous for the heating and cooling of buildings, provided that the long-term sustainability of the thermal exploitation of the soil is ensured. In particular, the performance of a closed-loop Borehole Heat Exchanger (BHE) strongly depends on the geometrical and physical properties of its components and on the thermo-hydr...
متن کاملEffects of fouling on performance of retrofitted heat exchanger networks: A thermo-hydraulic based analysis
The energy recovery performance of crude pre-heat trains (PHTs) in oil refineries is typically impaired by deposition over time of fouling on the thermal surfaces. Such time varying effects are normally not considered in the design or retrofit of heat exchangers networks. In this paper, the importance of taking into account such effects is demonstrated, bymeans of a case study. An existing indu...
